WCBS-TV’s Jennifer McLogan to Sound Starting Horn at 2017 Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach State Park

Jul 14, 2017

New York City, NY – Jennifer McLogan, Long Island reporter for WCBS-TV, will again sound the starting horn for the Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach State Park, on July 25. In addition to lending its talent on site, CBS New York, which also includes Long Island station WLNY TV-55, produced a public service announcement that will broadcast on both stations through the event date.

The 12th annual Marcum Workplace Challenge is Long Island’s largest run-walk for charity, attracting more than 12,000 participants and spectators from more than 220 Long Island companies and organizations. CBS New York is the exclusive broadcast media sponsor.

Presented by Marcum LLP, Long Island’s largest accounting and advisory firm and one of the top-ranked in the U.S., the annual Marcum Workplace Challenge has raised in excess of $700,000 to date for the Long Island Children’s Museum, Long Island Cares – the Harry Chapin Food Bank, the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, and the Nassau County SPCA. In addition to being a fundraiser, the event is also Long Island’s largest corporate picnic, with many participating companies holding their employee summer outings on the event grounds following the race.

“CBS New York has been a tremendous supporter of the Marcum Workplace Challenge for the past several years. We are extremely grateful to them for everything they do to help make this event a success, including allowing their Long Island reporters, Jennifer McLogan and Carolyn Gusoff, to kick-off the race,” said Carolyn Mazzenga, Marcum’s office managing partner for Long Island. “We are very excited to have Jennifer back this year. She is a terrific sport, as well as a true champion, and she does a great job for us at the starting line.”

This year’s PSA urges Long Islanders to participate: “Run, walk or cheer at the 12th annual Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach State Park. It’s Long Island’s largest charity run-walk benefiting Long Island community organizations! Join CBS2 and WLNY on Tuesday, July 25th at 7 PM, or for more information, go to cbsnewyork.com/marcum.”

The Marcum Workplace Challenge is supported by leading companies and organizations across Long Island. This year’s other top sponsors include Ergonomics Group, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Empire National Bank, PSEG Long Island, and Telephonics.
