Organizers Look for 2018 Event to Break Charitable Donations Record
New York City, NY – Registration has officially opened for the 13th annual Marcum Workplace Challenge, to be held at Jones Beach State Park on Tuesday July 31, 2018. The event is Long Island’s largest run-walk for charity, as well as the region’s largest corporate picnic, with more than 12,000 Long Islanders participating last year.
“This year we are looking forward to a bigger and better Marcum Workplace Challenge than ever before,” said Event Director Mindy Davidson of the Greater Long Island Running Club. “We’re welcoming employees, family members, and friends from companies and nonprofit agencies across Long Island to help us make the 2018 Marcum Workplace Challenge a new record-breaker for both charitable contributions and overall participation.”
Since 2006, the Marcum Workplace Challenge has raised in excess of $800,000 for four Long Island charities: the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, the Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. A contribution is also made to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, which hosts the event.
