New York, NY – The 2020 Marcum Workplace Challenge is off and running. This year’s run-walk for charity on July 28 will be the15th since Marcum LLP became title sponsor in 2006 and the first since surpassing the $1 million fundraising benchmark last year.
The 2020 event kicked off officially on February 26 when sponsors and team captains came together at Marcum’s Melville office to brainstorm and begin planning.

“The Long Island business community has turned out in force to support the annual Marcum Workplace Challenge every year since 2006. It is an incredible statement about how much Long Islanders care about those in need that together we have been able to raise more than $1 million. The 2020 challenge will be our 15th all-out effort to raise funds for some of Long Island’s most outstanding nonprofit organizations, and I have no doubt we will match or exceed our prior results, as we do every year,” said Carolyn Mazzenga, Long Island office managing partner of Marcum LLP, the event’s title sponsor.
Beneficiaries include the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
The annual Marcum Workplace Challenge is a 3.5-mile run-walk and corporate picnic at Jones Beach State Park. More than 12,000 Long Islanders, representing teams from 200 companies, participate each year. Marcum, Long Island’s largest accounting firm, produces the event in collaboration with the Greater Long Island Running Club.
