New York City, NY – Nearly 8,400 Long Islanders on 200 corporate teams ran or walked in the 2018 Marcum Workplace Challenge at Jones Beach State Park on July 31 to raise funds for Long Island charities.
Presented by Marcum LLP, the 3.5-mile event benefits the Children’s Medical Fund of New York, Long Island Cares/the Harry Chapin Food Book, the Long Island Children’s Museum, and the Nassau County SPCA. This year’s fundraising results will be announced in the fall. The Marcum Workplace Challenge has raised more than $800,000 for charity since 2006.
The 2018 first-place finishers were:
- Women: Katie McGrath – Globecomm (21:06)
- Men: Patrick Dooley – CA Technologies (17:44)
- Wheelchair: Greg Durso – Empire National Bank (20:43)
“It was an especially great event this year,” said Carolyn Mazzenga, Marcum’s office managing partner in Melville. “We had more sponsors than ever before, the company turn-out was excellent, the crowd was very upbeat, and the weather was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better night.”
