Marcum LLP’s Marcum Workplace Challenge Receives Corporate Citizenship Award

Jun 07, 2019

New York City, NYMarcum LLP’s Marcum Workplace Challenge was honored on June 5 with a Corporate Citizenship award from Long Island Business News, in the Corporate Social Responsibility category. The annual event has raised more than $900,000 for Long Island charities since 2006. This year’s event takes place Tuesday, July 30 at Jones Beach State Park.

The Marcum Workplace Challenge is Long Island’s largest corporate run-walk for charity, as well as the region’s largest office picnic. More than 12,000 runners, walkers and spectators, representing teams from more than 200 companies and organizations, participate each year.  Both serious and recreational participants are welcome.

The 2019 event puts Marcum “On the Road to $1 Million,” with proceeds again benefitting Long Island Cares: the Harry Chapin Food Bank, the Long Island Children’s Museum, the Nassau County SPCA, and the Children’s Medical Fund of New York.

“It is extremely gratifying to see how impactful the Marcum Workplace Challenge has become over the years, as more and more companies put on their sneakers to join us, and more and more funds are raised for our outstanding charity beneficiaries. We feel privileged to be able to facilitate such an extraordinary outpouring of support for our community and are deeply honored by the recognition from Long Island Business News, which has been one of our dedicated sponsors almost since the beginning!” said Carolyn Mazzenga, Marcum’s Long Island office managing partner.

“The Marcum Workplace Challenge holds a very special place in the Long Island running community,” said Mindy Davidson, race director for the Greater Long Island Running Club, which manages the event. “It is not only a magnet for both serious and recreational participants as well as a highly successful fundraiser, it is also a great party!”
